How to use Luminar to enhance your landscape photos?

2 Step 2: Crop and straighten

Sometimes, you may need to crop or straighten your photo to improve its composition and balance. Luminar has a crop tool that allows you to do both. You can access the crop tool by clicking on the crop icon in the toolbar, or by pressing C on your keyboard. You can then drag the corners or sides of the crop frame to adjust the size and shape of your photo. You can also use the aspect ratio dropdown menu to choose a preset ratio, such as 16:9, 4:3, or 1:1. To straighten your photo, you can either drag the angle slider or use the straighten tool to draw a line along the horizon or any vertical or horizontal element in your photo.

Luminar has a dedicated sky panel that can help you enhance the sky in your photo. You can access the sky panel by clicking on the sky icon in the toolbar, or by pressing S on your keyboard. You can then use the sliders to adjust the exposure, contrast, warmth, and saturation of the sky. You can also use the advanced settings to fine-tune the hue, luminance, and color balance of the sky. If you want to replace the sky entirely, you can use the sky replacement tool to choose from a library of realistic and beautiful skies.

4 Step 4: Add some finishing touches

The final step is to add some finishing touches to your photo to make it pop. Luminar has a lot of tools and features that can help you do that, such as the structure, details, vignette, and mood panels. You can access these panels by clicking on the icons in the toolbar, or by pressing the corresponding keys on your keyboard. You can then use the sliders to adjust the parameters of each panel. For example, you can use the structure panel to enhance the clarity and texture of your photo, the details panel to sharpen and reduce the noise of your photo, the vignette panel to darken or lighten the edges of your photo, and the mood panel to apply creative color filters to your photo. You can also use the erase, clone and stamp, or dodge and burn tools to remove unwanted objects, fix imperfections, or enhance the brightness and contrast of specific areas of your photo.
