Task prioritization is important but the criterias on "how to prioritize" are more important. As Project manager, you have to understand what drives the project? Is it meeting deadlines/milestones or certain cost expectations or margins. Every project will have a baseline which the project has to commit to deliver. But over time the priorities can change via Stakeholder/Customer feedback. So, communication is something which is very important between Project manager and outside projects. The PM cannot prioritize in isolation. You have to involve all necessary people. Keep doing, you are not going to be perfect at it, in your first 5 year of PM career. This is a skill you develop overtime.

For those stressors beyond my scope, I immediately reach out to the customer, make them aware of the steps taken to course correct and then wait for additional guidance and support. I had to learn the hard way that we really cannot take on every single thing that happens. We do good, better and our best and sometimes the outcomes are beyond us. Stressing won’t change that.
