1) Book tickets early, be it, train flight whatever. The trick is to start early. 2)Select the correct places, by correct I mean is you're not just travelling just for the sake of it. Try going and staying at off-beat places. Its always better to wake up to nature than with the city's noise. 3)Try exploring local things rather than going after the name and fame, you never know when you can find your new favorite delight/place/gift?

It´s always wise to book any travel in advance. I do that all the time on my leisure trips, but I know it´s a bit difficult to do that on business trips. Should a work trip happen on a last minute, the best strategy is to try to ovoid pick hours for flight departures or hotels in top prime locations.

It is imperative to plan ahead during peak seasons to ensure you are not disappointed. However if you decide last minute, having your travel advisor keep an eye on any cancellations is invaluable. Additional if it is worth it to you then cost outweighs benefit.

Peak season, for me, is a reminder to explore uncharted places or embark on treks. For instance, my new year begins at the peak of the trek I choose. From my experience, researching and opting for local vendors for treks often means avoiding surge charges during peak seasons.

Peak season travel you are anyways paying 30-40% higher at least. There has to be a compelling reason to opt for peak season instead of regular season. So you will get a 4* at a price of 5* and fitting into a budget would mean adjusting a bit in terms of luxuries and comforts. If you are too strict about budgets then you will end up something that is a total compromise. Every destination has a few stays that gets its loyal customers every year and if you are able to identify them with something you would like to stay then you may end up paying a lot less premium. So a good idea would be to research well before making a final choice. Dont expect any "Deals".

Peak season is that where everyone is traveling so there is multiple FD (fixed Departure) for multiple location & this will be budget friendly too. So I will suggest you to take fd rather then managing everything your own.

For example on a 10 days trip to Australia in July you could experience cold and rainy weather in Melbourne while the beaches in Queensland are more tropical and Uluru region could require a desert friendly wear. Hence it may not be a bad idea to get a fashion / travel stylist to assist you when planning a getaway.

During peak seasons, it's important to choose places that are relatively less crowded or away from the standard touristy routes..Choose alternative accommodations like homestays instead of standard hotels, places that are slightly more remote and secluded(or even relatively less motorable) have higher chances of being more peaceful and uncrowded in general..On top of that if you also have the flexibility of being off the radar, then choose places with no connectivity which in turn enables you to instead connect with the place and its people at a deeper level making your overall experience more immersive and enriching!

Crowds are unavoidable in peak season if you pick a regular holiday destination. However there are many limited capacity destination that many would call "offbeat" that would offer an amazing experience. However these would need planning well in advance as they tend to get filled up much in advance as compared to mainstream destinations.

When you steer clear of overrun tourist hotspots, you can experience a more relaxed atmosphere, better service, and fewer long lines. I personally prefer spontaneous trips and avoid prime locations during peak season. For instance, instead of Dehradun or Mussoorie, you can choose Chakrata, or opt for Tosh instead of Kasol. Of course, both sets of destinations have their own unique vibes, and for new travelers, going to a relatively less explored place might not be a comfortable choice. I recommend opting for group travels in such cases. Many organizations now offer attractive packages that suit everyone's needs.

Definitely staying in tune with current update is helpful to plan a better travel experience. For example using TripIt or other similar apps for flight updates. Most often I have been updated about delays on the app while the airport announcement or airlines website has no updates. Weather disruptions are also becoming more frequent and the Geo political situation can lead to travel disruptions.

While all other points are valid and informative. I would like to say that in the current scenario we need to be a little more responsible dont you think? Is it absolutely necessary to travel In peak season? Travelling during peak season can put a strain on local resources and it can cause overcrowding at popular tourist sites. As travel designers it is our responsibility to give options - and trust me there are some really good ones!
