For me managing an unrealistic timeline is like taming a runaway train and for that we need to be focus, adapt & communicate .. Lets me just break it down, set priorities & share the reality of trade-offs. We need to be creative but realistic. We may delay but time will not so its imp to align expectations early & turn pressure into progress without derailing quality.

Puede manejarse integrando metodologías ágiles en el proceso de diseño, tales como Design thinking o Scrum, para entregar al cliente un producto mínimo viable (funcional) en el menor tiempo posible. De este modo el proceso entra en fase de validación mientras se van haciendo el resto de los cambios, y la parte interesada tiene la oportunidad de ir dando feedback.

If stakeholders have unrealistic deadlines, it may be due to a lack of understanding of the project’s complexity or a need tied to a risk—be it a threat or opportunity. My first step would be to streamline the schedule as much as possible, making several revisions to ensure it remains challenging but realistic. I would then present this complexity to stakeholders to clarify the situation. If disagreements persist, a GO-NO GO decision may be necessary, as abandoning the project might be more viable than proceeding without their engagement. The point is: we work hard, but their engagement is out of our control. In long term, this posture of ours can generates more confidence in our work.

When stakeholders want results yesterday, it's time to reset the narrative. Start by breaking the redesign into digestible phases and clearly define what "quick" can realistically achieve. Engage them in prioritizing critical elements, when they're part of the process, they're more likely to respect its limits. And always deliver visible progress early. It buys you trust and time for the deeper work ahead.
