It's important to find the common points, stakeholders, and main deliverables that are generating conflicts. Based on that, it's possible to understand the critical path for each project, define priorities, and build the roadmap for achieving each team's goals, improving resources for both.
-

When two engineering teams clash over priorities, it is crucial to act with clarity and objectivity. To help them find common points: 1. 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: actively listen to both sides and promote dialogue. Focus on shared goals and eliminate misunderstandings. 2. 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬: Use objective criteria such as customer impact, time or cost. 3. 𝐄𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Successful projects depend on cooperation. Benefits: a) Avoid delays. b) Improve efficiency. c) Strengthen interdepartmental relationships. *𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘴 𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴.

When resolving conflicts between teams, I focus on understanding perspectives and finding common goals. I start by facilitating a neutral discussion where both teams can openly share their viewpoints and underlying concerns. This helps identify any misconceptions or miscommunications. Next, I clarify roles and objectives, emphasizing shared goals that require collaboration. Often, I organize joint problem-solving sessions or team-building exercises, which build trust and encourage cooperation. By promoting open dialogue and aligning everyone on the larger objectives, I help bridge gaps and create a more unified, productive environment.
