What are the benefits and challenges of using swimlane diagrams for process improvement?

A Swimlane diagram is a 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 (i.e it clarifies the roles and responsibilities within a process). Using the metaphor of lanes in a swimming pool, it organizes process steps into horizontal or vertical "swimlanes" assigned to specific employees, work groups, or departments. Yes, people still print out presentations and yes they will likely continue to do so for quite some time. Ce diagramme est un outil simple et très visuel pour la modélisation de processus même complexes. Il permet aux différents acteurs d'identifier rapidement les tâches qui leur incombent. Il permet aussi de mettre en évidence les redondances et incohérences. Sa lecture horizontale et sa soupleese rendent sa compréhension plus facile que celle d'un logigramme classique. Je l'utilise dans le domaine de la santé et les retours des professionnels sont positifs. Je trouve intéressant de le proposer lors de la modélisation de processus, la rédaction de procédures. Le fait d'avoir différents outils de modélisation me permet de trouver le plus adapté aux personnes que j'accompagne et donc de faciliter l'appropriation des documents et processus.
