What are the best ways to troubleshoot IoT devices?

There are many great tools that enable you to troubleshoot IoT devices, including SSH. When reviewing other tools it's important to look at the risks associated with implementation such as open ports that increase the attack surface. Tools like Alvaldi don't require any open ports and include other functionality like RBAC and audit logs.

Yes resetting has solved most of the issues. However, if that doesn't solve the issue it is suggested to check if the device needs an adapter, sometimes if the power supply is not stable, during environmental reasons, resetting does not help. We need to have a good adapter connected to the device. That helps when you find that your device is breaking down frequently. Most IoT devices are extremely fragile and are prone to developing faults especially once they are handled by kids or busy bodies who don't know how to use it. I have found replacing the devices is rather costly and will do that as a last resort.

Important when most of time mentioned update it's one thing to be careful that hardware like IoT plug you might be updating (Flashing) the internal chip. Then it's software usually on phone or Raspberry pi and so on.

I would like to say about the Internet of things is how many things we have to consider in just five years we have had many different standards, and that has confuse many specially when one standard is even locked with in the sellers brand For example, Zigby, the standard has few years years on the market but its not like USB Zigby have been locked by manufacturers. So considering any IOT is important to think about the whole concept of what you are getting in to. Be locked into one system or using multi different types of manufacturers and systems is complicated. New standard called Matter isint even known how open it will and the longevity of support and updates are important. Do your research before you committ standard or a brand.
