Ops Research folks are often heavy on arrogance ("I'm the top of my class") and they have a real problem accepting that there are things they don't know. But in an interview, the people asking the questions really don't want an arrogant candidate who doesn't know their limits and is self-conscious about it. As you answer questions, you want to show humility, knowledge of your gaps in knowledge, and a willingness to learn. One of the best ways to accomplish this is with a story about where you were wrong (maybe you just did the math incorrectly), but when it was pointed out you were professional about it and appreciated the help.
