The real cloud journey (if you are an absolute beginner) starts from Basics which are way below the Cloud Models and deployments To me the basics really starts from 1. OS fundamentals 2. Networking fundamentals 3. Hypervisors and virtualization 4. From here the lines can go to types of Cloud Services like IaaS, PaaS, SaaS or XaaS .. 5. Getting to deployment models Once the above things are understood, good to the pick up the certification learnings if your choice .. start with any associate level certification and moving up to professional level With all these, it is very important to have hands on at each stage and just the theory won't help to solidify the understanding

I would not start with choosing a path from one of the big players. I would start with technical basics like network, automation and Linux basics. After that try to understand the concepts cloud provider offer and than choose one path to specialize on it.

Figuring out the job title you want is the first part because from there, you can get on the certification path towards that title as opposed to just going after the latest hot cert that you see everyone else going after.

This should be very first clear, on which path you want to get certified. Nowadays, it is very difficult to choose the path since there are multiple opportunities. Hence in what area you want to get certified becomes more important and you can start working upon.
