What do you do if you want to leverage your background in entrepreneurship as an educational leader?

To leverage my entrepreneurship background in educational leadership, I'd foster innovation within the institution, form partnerships with industry, develop entrepreneurial programs, and create real-world learning experiences for students. By integrating entrepreneurial principles into the curriculum, I aim to prepare students for success in today's dynamic economy while fostering a culture of creativity and adaptability within the educational community.

Entrepreneurship teaches you how to accept failures and kind of learn or unlearn from them and move on. Adapting to certain situations, as we call them Pivoting in the startup lingo is an important skillset that gets developed seamlessly in an entrepreneur that enables the entrepreneur to embrace change.

Adaptation, change, and creativity are kind of sometimes taken into cause-and-effect relationships. In reality, they are not. Adaptation and change are co-related but not entirely the same. And every change is not creative. Entrepreneurs mostly are pushed into solving problems with very limited amounts of resources that have no precedent. So, they have to innovate and creativity becomes the necessity of running the business. Like , become profitable in 2 months, build a completely new app in 1 month and so on.

The education industry is built on trust. And networks and partnerships bring trust. As an entrepreneur, it was natural for us to build networks and seek partnerships which is very important for an institution or probably for an EdTech leader.

Para estimular o networking é importante a participação em congressos, as trocas em eventos na sua escola que podem ser abertos a outros, além do compartilhamento de boas práticas.

All former entrepreneurs who became educators have a common experience, they all understand the importance of resilience and ability to learn and dare to try. My experience after I become an educator is to be able to translate all theories in textbooks into projects and assignments that require students to explore new ideas no matter how small, creating assignments that are realistic enough will both allow theoretical applications on to real issues. Often my project involved joint grading with a corporation senior executive, and any project is given by the corporation. This requires me to continue to be in touch with real business work , network and enhance my students exposure to my business networks.

I teach and I have been a failed entrepreneur. Education is all about ownership, learning by doing is all about accountability and getting things done with so many difficulties in place. As entrepreneur, the students can be encouraged entrepreneurship to take accountability and be driven.

As an educational leader making and difference, I intentionally leverage technology to enhance learning and learning styles and makes information more accessible to learners of diverse needs.

A school, for instance, is a business that focuses on children. Hence to leverage entreprenueral skills, ensure you take risk that puts in place the environment , physical and human resources that meets the children's holistic needs. For this is the primary objective .
