In my experience, the best way to optimize results for all potentially impacted stakeholders is to meet and listen at the beginning of your journey together. This approach not only provides a better understanding of the actual—rather than presumed or assumed—wants and needs of stakeholders, but also allows you to reduce long-term risks by avoiding missteps based on actions rooted solely in the wants and needs of your business. This is not merely a benevolent act; it’s sound financial practice based on good old American capitalism, which includes positive, comprehensive outcomes, especially in communities historically faced with social and economic injustices.

I am convinced that social justice and equality can only be achieved via education. Education is a weapon for spreading a feeling of dignity, individual and social rights, and enabling the community experiencing injustice to lead the society in a better direction. So, I shall make every effort to enroll everyone in the educational system.

Achievability ensures that the goals are realistic and within the organization's capacity. Lastly, Time-bound goals create urgency and a timeline for achievement. The feedback of those “outsiders” are of particular relevance, and a critical analysis could be obtained. Engaging stakeholders is a continuous process, that needs to be considered multiple perspectives and requirements.

I completely agree we need to create an ecosystem with the private and public sector to help marginalized groups. We need to do interviews with young and old to understand how they are limited and use public funds and smart technologies to help them further along

Soliciting feedback expecting to receive only good compliments is terrible, as mistakes and problems will not be really addressed. At the best scenario, feedback should not be requested, feedback should be spontaneous.

Once we understand the root of social injustice we are addressing, we must be willing to be resilient, innovative and open to creative collaborations and cocreations across the globe. Social injustice is not limited to already identified issues and those which are included in existing benchmarks. CSR is a continuous journey, which will never be static. It is not a destination nor an achieved minimal compliance standard. For genuinely sustainable organisations it is a journey with no end.

In my opinion every csr program should deal and fight against inequality and/or be focused in promoting social justice. So, I would suggest another question to an article. What would you do if you realize that your csr program is not promoting social justice?

It is interesting to analyze how community action has been supported, changing from traditional supporting groups (specially GOV entities) to the private sector, being addressed as CSR or ESG efforts. Whatever is the name that is given, and which is the supporting group, community action improves the awareness to important issues addressed at the communication process, building trust, and community fidelity. The collective action also enables a continuous feedback, allowing stakeholders to be part of the decision process, pressuring on issues that are considered of relevance. It’s a win-win opportunity, when the communication process is good, and the responsiveness to the community action is considered part of the strategy.
