I would also describe how the organization, roles and personnel would look like after the change.

Speak Up for Change! Getting everyone on board with new ideas is all about talking it out clearly. At an old job, a new tool came along, but no one explained what it did or why it was better. People were like, "Why change if things are okay?" Once the boss explained how the tool would save time and make working together easier, everyone understood. They weren't scared of the new tool anymore and were happy to try it.

In my experience a common resistant to change is lack of communication addressing the impacted individuals who ultimately want to know “how will this affect me?” or “whats in it for me?”. Provide communications that are relatable to the impacted team members. Provide the why behind a change what makes it important to those affected and the company. Provide the roles/individuals impacted, the benefits that the company will experience and further break the benefits down to what it means for the individuals impacted. Ensure communications are provided in a timely manner. Accompany any roll out communications with visual process maps, how to instructions and/or training depending on the type of change to cater for different learning styles.

Nobody would be left behind, and if there are major concerns, people can speak it out before the plan is implemented, to foster inclusivity and an element of cooperation among all employees.

Support is essential! Support Teams are used not with hope, but with an expected result of changing the environment. I can imagine how dreadful the environment might be. I know how to be surrounded by toxic and unfulfilled people. Gaslighting will not work. True love and support will always work, and it is possible without judgment. The more we judge a person who is making steps toward improvement, the more resistance we are building up toward change! So, tailor your approach to each individual, and let people learn! The whole point is to start doing, and making those decisions, no matter how they turn out! An action taken is all it takes to win!

Basically, don't just accept that everyone around you has to use the latest technology, but become the leader in using that technology yourself. Or if nothing else, become a power user of that technology, so that you can rely on its success or failure to leadership. Don't be afraid to say it's not working, or if you need additional resources to make it work. Not every product will workout the way you want it too. That is ok, but the faster you can understand this, by either adjusting it to your requirements or finding a replacement, the better.

I agree that leaders significantly influence reactions and emotions of those affected by change. Good leaders understand their direct reports challenges and can predict reactions of direct reports before they receive the change communications. In my experience if leaders receive the information prior to direct reports they can ensure their own understanding of the reason for change, support or voice concerns and resolve their own emotions prior to addressing their teams. A good leader will articulating their own resistance via the correct channels and if that voice does not affect the outcome, they will champion the change professionally regardless of personal views.

Any change small or big has resistance and it is natural that it overwhelms team to see the change. As a leader there are multiple ways to help team navigate through situation a. Listen in to their concerns b. Explain them the context of why these changes are being brought in c. Get into the day to day asks and show the way on how we can work through the new changes d. Follow up if there are improvements that the team has to make the change better Any change can be overwhelming, working closely with the team to hear in, work through them until new change settles in and asking for feedback to make the change better is critical

Lead everybody by not only spilling the beans about the plan but also showing others how it could help the entire organization including each and every employee. Leadership is about showcasing inclusivity and helping others motivate and figure out how their personal and professional goals can be met rather than blatantly telling how they should start implementing without considering their emotions, or ideas.

The larger the organization, the more diverse your approach should be from inspiring leadership, to engaging directly with your lowest level employees. Also, remember through this engagement to take those around you advice towards this change.

Listening to others perspective is important, analyze it, then try to manage situation by quoting a realtime example which connects with the member and mention the benefits, and at last if still needed, involve any mediator for the support.🍀✍️

Ego’s should be kept in check, there is nothing wrong with eating some humble pie. It demonstrates humility and can garner respect from team members that you acknowledge and accept when a change made was wrong. Be transparent and communicate it. No change is perfect, sometimes it can go completely wrong. Every change can be improved upon, enhanced or redeveloped. Whether it is small tweaks, new technologies or a complete redesign, nothing is set in stone forever. Don’t let your ego get in the way.
