What do you do if your music career is plagued by mistakes?

First things first, be acutely aware that you WILL make mistakes. Many of them, in fact. Then, acknowledge that there's no "right" or "wrong" things to do in this industry. More often than not, you won't know if something was mistake until sometimes months or years after the actual decision was made. Read that again and again because as simple as it is to read and understand it, it's a lifelong journey to implement. Once you are able to internalize these points, you'll see how much lighter and less stressful your music career becomes. You'll begin to connect with others on a deep and organic level and see new opportunities blossom as a result of being present and open to exploration, instead of focusing on not making mistakes.

Errors and mistakes are part of the journey. This is how you grow. There is a lot to learn from any errors or mistakes you have made. Make sure to take the time to reflect on what happened and why, and what you could change so it doesn't happen again.

Nothing changes if nothing changes. Truer words have not been said, especially when it comes to your career in music. The most beautiful part of life is that we get to build our futures with the choices we make today. That's why analysis and self-reflection are super important in improvement and growth. Take the time to analyze where you truly are and where you want to be. Are the things you're spending time on the things that will take you where you want to be? What are the things you can do right now that will set you up to accomplish the goals you've set for yourself? Small changes today have compounding effects in the future. Where do you see yourself going? What can you do today to start you on that course?

Reflect: Learn from every mistake. Seek Feedback: Get advice and perspectives. Adjust Strategy: Change tactics as needed. Build Resilience: Bounce back stronger. Network: Connect with others in the industry. Stay Passionate: Remember why you started. Keep Creating: Continue to produce work. Mistakes are lessons, not failures. Keep moving forward :)

Once you realize and understand that you will make mistakes and those mistakes will help you grow, you'll start to build this resilience. From here you'll begin to understand that what will shape your career (and in fact, your whole human experience) is not the amount of mistakes you commit, but rather how you learn from them and bounce back. Do you allow your mistakes to define you? Do you sulk and focus on what could have been? Do you continue to bang your head against the wall and hope it breaks? Or do you analyze and learn from what went wrong? Do you seek to expand your knowledge and implement plans to do things differently at the next opportunity? Embrace your mistakes.
