I often use telemetry from a Formula 1 car as an example. You can't drive a car without a dashboard — it's impossible to develop a product without metrics. And here I'm talking about Product metrics, not P&L. Of course, there are the basic usage metrics (Visits, Registrations, DAU, MAU, Conversion Rate). But a good starting point could be the Consumer Journey. How does your customer use your product? What experiences does he go through? What touchpoints do you use? The telemetry metaphor means placing "sensors" in the car and on the track to be able to know everything that is happening, at each lap of the circuit. This way you can make fine adjustments to improve indicators throughout the product's use cycle.
