Start with cash flow - What’s your runway? - What’s the cash margin for your core products/services? - What’s your break-even point? When you have gained a better understanding of your finances, - cut costs - increase revenue - expand upon your core products/services - or find new revenue streams

Don't make vague goals. 1. Be specific. I want to increase revenue → I want to increase revenue by $500,000 this year. 2. Be realistic. It's not feasible to increase by $500,000 then keep it low and realistic. 3. Make it measurable. Break it down so you can see progress & stay motivated.

What I've discovered as a former founder and current business banker, is that most business owners got into business because they are passionate about something outside the financial side - which is totally okay! I think some of the best business owners learn this over time, or had some sort of background or education, but there is power in understanding your strengths and passion and bringing in experts in the field to help out. There are so many resources out there in the community of individuals who are passionate about helping business owners. Look for the good ones and partner with them!

Fear of being judged incompetent. Many people make this mistake and dont engage experts. They don't ask for advice. But asking for help isn't a sign of weakness. It's a sign of strength. It's admitting that you don't know everything, and that's okay. Seek professional advice when required.
