Easiest way to ensure expectations are met is to create a daily list of jobs that you would be happy with getting done that day! If the worker can complete these all before their shift is over give them an early finish for their hard work! This will pay off tenfold in the long run! Just remember not to make the job list unachievable as this will dampen the spirits and put you back where you started.

In the past I train folks in groups of 2 or 3. You never know when someone is out sick, or has to leave due to a family emergency. You never know so I inherently build in succession training. It creates teamwork and brings out skill sets but also allows for redundancy.

Its so important to pay them correctly and offer a great work environment to retain their services, a lot of temporary workers will choose a happy workplace with good pay than take a punt on an unknown job with better pay, In todays market temp workers can start a new job every day of the week! So make good ones permanent ASAP.
