It took me the first six years of my career to realise the importance of having a portfolio along with a resume. I used to think that updating my portfolio was like updating my resume, in terms of getting work experience or by pursuing more jobs, but no! A portfolio is actually for showcasing your skills or talents to recruiters. This way, I learnt from my previous jobs, that this is how you get hired in the field. You can’t just expect to go for an interview and answer questions recruiters ask you. In this industry, you CANNOT go empty-handed!! You have to get your act, together, by having a portfolio and constantly updating it with whatever new skills you’ve learnt or concepts and ideas you’ve toyed with. This way, you stand out.

Your portfolio is like your personal highlight reel, and it's important to keep it fresh. I make it a point to regularly update mine with my latest projects, achievements, and learnings. Not only does it help showcase my skills to others, but it also serves as a reminder of how far I've come.
