I absolutely love working as a diabetes care associate precisely because it is challenging. However there is much reward. I have found that when I approach each new person living with diabetes consulting me as gently and curiously as I can listening attentively and asking key questions we can unlock the problems they face together. Once we find tailor made solutions/keys to unlock certain dilemmas, with buy in from the person living with diabetes we start to win- get control of the sugars. The quality of life changes and we are suddenly on a journey of joy and that is very sweet!

Rewards: Making a tangible difference in patients' lives, witnessing improvements in their health outcomes, and contributing to the broader community's wellness.

Working holistically in a team is another joy that I love being a diabetes care co-ordinator. Together we have more "brains" so to speak to figure out certain "problems" and unlock them one by one. It's much more powerful in team and a great collaboration can go very far in the ends of people living with diabetes' needs.

Diabetes care requires a TEAM approach from treating Diabetologist, Nurse, Diabetes Educator, Dietician, patient and their Family members. Involvement of all leads to better control of hyperglycemia achieving target levels, and than maintaining at target levels, which we aim to prevent or delay Diabetes Associated Complication and thus improving outcome. Diabetes Education and Awareness also needs collaboration from social workers, community leaders, NGO to reach out mass, focusing on preventive aspects, screening, and picking up PreDiabetes (IGT) patient and to provide them education and Life style Changes which are needed to reduce burden of Diabetes in future.
