Reflecting back to a conversation with a HRD some time ago, he mentioned that .... A Sales Head stays awake thinking of sales growth, an Operations Head would lie awake thinking of efficiency, productivity etc but a HR Lead will be thinking of the entire organizations' concern. Teh role gyrates from being able to be strategic with a clear vision, execute the people goals whilst driving various culture, different age generations, recruit & terminate and all those good problems that come with organizations. Reflecting back, HR is probably the most important link between people and the success of any organization. That link involves being able to plan, execute, adapt to an ever-changing world of work.

Any assumptions that may lead to employee dissatisfaction should be addressed by allowing feedback channels for employees. The only way I see doing this is to know the pulse of your organization and that is possible only when you interact, communicate and understand :))

Por supuesto, bajar al negocio, es la única manera de que el resto sientan que aportamos valor. Depende mucho de la cultura de una organización el que HR tenga peso dentro de la organización, pero a veces olvidamos que nuestra actitud, liderazgo y trabajo tendrán un elevadísimo impacto en la importancia de nuestra área dentro de la organización.

The HR lead in the essence means that you lead something. You managing processes so the conclusion should be that HR lead should lead people. But lead is not so often considered in that way. In most cases the title is given somebody who is between generalist with more seniority and not manager yet. It is even worst if it is lead and not leading people.. So we are just talking fancy names for regular HR generalist jobs.. So instead HR lead give people Junior HR manager role and responsibility as well, it would be more suitable. But we have to follow trends, right?
