What are effective ways to evaluate teaching in small classes?

What is great about a small classroom is that you can set personalized goals, rather than broad ones. I have taught in small and large classrooms and the difference is remarkable. My students in a small classroom setting can achieve goals on a more consistent basis. I am a definitely an advocate of this learning atmosphere.

In a teaching environment, it is important that the goals be set prior. This gives a clear direction that both teachers and students should take making them remain focused within the scope. Being aligned to the objectives ensures that they are all achieved in the long run

To ensure effective teaching, it is crucial to make your class interactive. Encourage your students to actively participate in discussions and frequently ask questions to assess their understanding. Don't hesitate to take charge and create an engaging learning environment.

Formative assess your students during the class itself within the goals and objectives that you've set. Reflect on the results during the session. And i found that in math classes, formative assessments take another meaning. You can formative assess your students in the topics taught within a day, and next day you can merge the new topics with the old ones and still considered as formative, and next day and so. This assures that the results your students are getting can effectively be analysed. As for summative assessments they are as important as the formative ones
