What are some best practices for writing effective unit tests and integration tests in scrum?

One of the most used testing strategies out there is the BDD (Behavior Driven Development), which is a spin-off of test-driven development (TDD). It uses a special language and format for creating tests called Gherkin. The main idea behind BDD is to focus on what the user needs and how the software should act. Having this in mind when designing the software product, we write the tests from the get-go. So if the software (to be developed) passes these tests, it's doing exactly what it's supposed to do, which is an invaluable insight for the development team.  Cucumber is a very popular tool for doing BDD testing, but some teams use Cucumber together with Selenium to make testing more straightforward and understandable for everyone.

In my previous role as a BA, we always made small, regular tweaks to how we worked based on what was and wasn't clicking. It wasn't about huge overhauls but listening, learning, and adjusting. Include all testing types and conclude whether it’s in scope or out of scope of the testing plan. 3. Compute and improve Code coverage in unit tests, integration tests and automated tests. Regular tracking, review and improvements will ensure the testing is effective and efficient to be on par with development work accomplished in sprints ensuring no defect leaks.

A lot of teams dont spend the time to review their test, something i suggest should often be a topic pf discussion in inspect and adapt sessions. Having Test SME's and/ accountable team members who should from time to time nudge team for reviewing their test strategy and upgrading their automation strategy can iteratively reduce overhead and make a growing product more effortlessly testable and assuring quality.
