What are some emerging opportunities and threats for exhibit designers?

I believe in blending art and technology to enhance experiences, prioritizing content, history, and people. Mastering technique uncovers creative dynamics for fluid and engaging content presentation. Neglecting technique confines us to limited ready-made technologies, diminishing user experiences. New technologies are opportunities to inspire people to step out, broaden horizons. In digital media, projectors, once dominant, now compete with prevalent LED panels. I consider this shift a mistake, as LED's active light emission can be harsh on the eyes. Projector light, reflecting on walls, reduces prolonged screen viewing discomfort. Projectors remain the preferred choice for display solutions due to their user-friendly design.

Designers must stay updated with digital trends, prioritize user experience, and balance innovation with practicality to leverage these opportunities effectively while mitigating potential threats.

Some companies thinking of exhibiting just won’t play the tech innovation game! They will attend fewer exhibitions to hire the new tech to look contemporary with the competition at fewer shows!

Traditional medias used for exhibitors and graphic designers of exhibition stands are actually very wasteful and not environmentally friendly. I've been looking at ways to recycle foamex, correx and fabric printed stands for years and there are very limited options. The "go to" for sustainability has therefore pursued "reusable" options which is one of the reasons why I invested in Shell-Clad. However, new medias such as ReBoard/Xanita and TriaPrint are carving into the "rigid board" sector, making it more accessible for printers to offer designers, marketing/advertising agencies and exhibitors new products that are either partially/fully made from waste product and/or are fully repulpable/recycled.

The drive for green stands makes the use of modular shell scheme stands more desirable. This however makes shows more unified and companies find it harder to stand out from the crowd, so shows have less impact and buzz! This also results in the ultimate green stance of not exhibiting at all! Maybe doing virtual shows or marketing invited showroom events instead?

International exhibitions especially in low value products will not get to pre Covid attendance numbers again! Way too many problems from exhibiting costs to green issues to travel disruptions to reduced sector spending to the costs of shipping Chinese low value products around the world now being unprofitable!
