Reiterate to adjust on your path toward regenerative business/ collectivity. Be flexible, ethical and learn. And above all appreciate life and meeting constructive people along the way.

As corporations are often made up of many humans and corporate statements are often seen as greenwashing, I start with empowering the individual to act within the business on a micro level they can see in the workplace with suggestions for the home. All the standard expect actions, assessing emissions , reducing and reusing where possible will feel like corporate must haves. But enlisting ideas at a micro level brings your people power along with you. In my experience, it is critical to identify the context, the risks and challenges, opportunities and drivers that intersect the environment and the social context of the business, the geography and the current state to determine steps. It’s hard to see the benefits of our individual actions in relation to climate change, and as a result peoples’ motivations can wane after a period of time. Observational and conversational research as part of a behavioural design process, can help us identify opportunities to make the sustainable choices the easiest thing to do, so that adoption of changes gains traction and becomes a norm.

The threat posed by climate change is currently bigger than before. Surprisingly, big businesses and multinational enterprises are, by far, the most significant contributors to this crisis. So, how do we combat this global phenomenon? Needs assessment, action plan (not band-aid solutions), and accountability are the top three key aspects that we need to put on the table. But it doesn't stop there. An important first step is to map all relevant internal and external stakeholders, and to analyse to what extent they are impacted by our decisions on this matter.

Instead of incremental steps in your existing value chain and production line, find out how you can entirely rethink your business model in a way that is fit for the future. Like it or not, radical rethinking, innovation and systems change is the solution, no small reduction here and there, is going to do it for your business or for future generations.

I agree with what August says here. I would even go as far as saying that, in most cases, you can do this before all the data gathering. It can be done through a collective intuitive process, which will define how your business or organisation fits into the world. having done this, all the data collection and alliances can be carried out to back up the transformation. Regenerative transformations are not a piecemeal operation, they are a radical (to the roots) rethinking and rewiring of everything we do as humans and as organisations.

Since the 20th century, climate change has been an issue of global concern and therefore a prominent foreign policy issue for states. The phenomenon known today as climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing humanity and is considered a threat to international peace and security, as its consequences cause social, environmental, political and economic problems. This is why climate change cannot be ignored by states, as it is a foreign policy issue in their international and inter-state relations. Every region of the world has already been reached and impacted by climate change.

All of these frameworks are helpful and you should absolutely reference them. However, you must also look at your corporate values and beliefs. At what your ethos is and how you align best with the changes you want to make. This is because to have the biggest impact, you need complete buy-in from all stakeholders. Get your team on board, and your changes become more authentic and your impact becomes bigger.

We already have to start putting together the Regenerative Development Goals that can take over from the SDGs after 2030. Using the SMART criteria can help ensure that ourgoals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. In addition, aligning goals with global frameworks such as the SDGs or the Paris Agreement can provide a broader context and guidance for your climate change efforts. These frameworks outline specific targets and objectives that can help guide our goal-setting process. By aligning goals with these global frameworks, we can demonstrate our commitment to addressing climate change in a way that is consistent with international efforts.

Short and long-term goals are extremely important. What are the wins you can achieve today that foster your ability to further evolve and grow in the long run? It's also important not to lose sight of the fact that no one business or organization is going to be able to solve for climate change. It is a collaborative and cumulative effort. We have to be forgiving of ourselves that we're not always going to have an idealized outcome. Rather, we as change agents should meet our organizations where they are and to focus on areas that are most impactful and serve the greatest public benefit while still serving the primary purpose of our respective businesses and organizations.

Roadmaps are great. Just remember that the baseline is that we are looking into a present and a future that will be increasingly funded in chaos and extreme complexity. We do not have the models yet to take this into account, so these have to be developed. In collaborative, open source.

Action plans and roadmaps are great! You will definitely want to develop this, with key markers for success. However, you also want to ensure they are flexible. Sustainability is an ever-changing landscape especially with requirements and reporting. Be sure you think things loose enough that you allow for re-evaluation of what you've done and where you're going to stay current and on point.

A cross-functional roadmap that has been tested, scrutinized, pulled apart and rebuilt in multiple iterations is essential. You need to make sure your plan makes sense and is sustainable both for the environment and your organization. You need a plan that is realistic. A high-minded goal that is impossible to achieve will look good on paper but go nowhere. You need a plan that gives you a series of small but impactful early victories. You also need to ensure that there is mutual enthusiasm and buying it all levels of your organization. That only happens through honest discussions, practical research, and good faith intentions.

A true corporate social responsibility requires collaboration with stakeholders, including employee and community, as well as partners and suppliers. Creating alignment and strategy and actions of all related parties will create a larger, more collective impact.

Now that necessary steps have been taken, it's time to evaluate the outcome and implications of your CSR activity. What parameters performed well? What aspects should be improved? Does it adhere to specific standards? How long are we looking for the project to take a complete cycle? Remember, your CSR initiative doesn't stop at the moment of its implementation. Rather, it's a long-term commitment that should benefit not only your business interest but the greater good of today and the coming generations.

There are quite a few dynamic tools available now that are based on active participation from everyone in the company and around, and which can be monitored against changes in the organisation on a daily basis as well as used for setting mid-term goals.

Continued evaluation at this point will be key. I think where a lot of companies have issues is that they complete one item and then move one. This is a complex issue that will continue to change over time. Use the data you collect and ensure you use it to keep yourself in check and pushing forward. The work in this space is never really done.

Given we are now at the hottest temperatures in the past 100,000 years and there is overwhelming scientific consensus it is anthropogenic (caused by humans since the Industrial Revolution) we should all be very concerned and ACT! If not the 1.5degree Celsius threshold could soon be breached with a loss of sea ice that could cause 10 METERS in sea level rise. Crisis is staring us in the face and the fossil fuel companies are focused on bribing politicians so they can be the richest people in the cemetery. If fossil fuels are economically viable why do they need $7Trillion a year in in/direct subsidies? (Latest IMF data).

The responses on table may be promising , but too slow to address the fundamental problem that created this mess. The scientific advances hailed as progress triggered this challenge and yet no accountability. Take the industrial revolutions as a case in point. The drivers and beneficiaries of these revolutions are by and large creators of the impact we seek to reverse and yet the model hasn’t changed. To Africa, 1st Industrial Revolution brought slavery; 2nd IR brought colonisation; 3rd brought globalisation; and 4th IR is perpetuating the same pyramid where the creators of the problems continue to push the impact of climate crisis down to those that did not create it while making the potential solutions beyond the reach of the victims.

Climate has been changing since the Ice Age and will continue to change until the end of life on this Planet. Focusing on industrial emissions of the GHGs and ignoring Natural Emissions such as Methan from Cows is non sense, "one cow can belch 220 pounds of methane, which is 28 times more potent than carbon dioxide. We need just to understand the ins and outs of Adaptation Methodolgies that are applicable to each specific Geographical Area.

There is a huge opportunity for leadership and charting the way forward. There are times when it is less about the return than it is about doing the right thing. This is one of those times. Creating pressures from the ground up is critical to lobbying and pushing for policy action and signalling to producers all along the value chain that the fossil fuel act is over and it is now about safeguarding the health of our eco-systems.

In recent years, climate and ESG standards with extraterritorial components have proliferated, impacting global value chains. Examples of this are the CBAM, the EU anti-deforestation and CS3D directives, the French 'loi de vigilance', and the German due diligence law. New sustainability and climate reporting standards, such as ISSB S1 and S2, also affect actors along global value chains, especially while there is no full interoperability between different frameworks. Transnational/cross-border climate litigation is also a growing phenomenon. These factors impact companies' positioning, competitiveness, and ability to access global markets, so it is key to keep track of developments in both the regulatory and voluntary framework fronts.
