I personally try to avoid any apps at all and just use a text editor and a synchronization app. This gives me the widest set of support possible and ensures I'm never locked down to any vendor. Even on the device I can use neovim on smaller notes, and zettlr or vscode when I need to really pump out some volume. I then use any number of distribution channels, many applications support markdown, Jira and Git are the main 2 for group distribution. For personal usage I use Synching which is able to sync over a local network. This method is extremely minimalist and has allowed me to adapt to any environment as I'm literally just syncing text.
