You want to earn a promotion at work. How can you get your boss to notice you?

Performance reviews or job chats are the perfect environment to signal your ambitions whilst asking for development and mentoring on how to move to the next level. There is nothing wrong in vocalising your desire to progress but it must be done in a manner that displays humility and an understanding that there are always new skills to be learnt and experience to be gained. Finally, analyse those colleagues around you who lead by example, enthuse others and gain respect from their peers. Try to understand how they achieve this, spend time with them and use them as a coach to help you improve

If your boss fails to recognize your abilities, talents, and contributions, consider seeking alternative employment. Your primary focus should not be on gaining your boss's attention. If he lacks the ability to acknowledge your value, it is his shortcoming, not yours.

- the above point is of great value add to organisation & personal -In my POV - this should be in number 2 where employee understand his/her role and immediately follow this point to get more attracted by boss & team - By taking extra challenges, it symbolise the employee attitude & characterism - Moreover the employee gains a lot of positive/negative experience in taking up this new assignment additional to normal job routine

This is important process required in any organization to understand the relationship between the boss and Co-workers. Feed back system should be very constructive to correct both side. Finding the potential person to promote will be judged by only frequent meetings not in an yearly appraisal system. Feedback Sessions helps to understand and improve the overall team performance.

- This is another valid point which comes to my mind when it’s getting noticed by boss -Being professional is good attitude when it comes to organised sectors however there are some examples of bad leaders/boss who actually not so professional ruining the subordinate’s career - Basically “It Depends” being highly professional on many other factors. - One should take pro-active call on professionalism while balancing their work-life

- Some of my additional views apart from the above 6 points is : - Work understand according to boss’s situation - Sometimes it will be tough task to understand our boss’ mood & situation and basis that our actions to be lined up - For example - A boss who is actually not able to complete the company’s objective, it’s obvious he will be under high pressure and sometimes the boss will not ready to share the same to a subordinate, in this case : the smart employee shall find out the actual situation his boss into and try to stay out of impressing - will surely save the image of employee, leads to getting noticed. So it’s good to be INTROVERT
