When a client doubts mindfulness, focus on its practical value. Here’s how to make the case: 1. Tie it to performance. Show how mindfulness improves focus, decision-making, and stress management. 2. Share evidence. Highlight studies or examples of leaders who’ve gained clarity and effectiveness through mindfulness. 3. Start small. Introduce simple techniques they can try without disrupting their routine. 4. Frame it as a tool. Position mindfulness as a way to stay sharp, not just a wellness practice. 5. Connect to their goals. Link mindfulness to what they care about—better leadership, calmer problem-solving, or stronger presence. Mindfulness isn’t abstract it’s a skill for peak performance.

I ask clients to start by checking their feelings. Once that is done I get them to engage in a mindfulness exercise.. And then ask them to see the difference in their state of being and clarity of thought...It has always worked. I prefer to keep it simple because there is nothing complicated about mindfulness.. So no big theories or too many bullet points to explain.. A practical on the spot demonstration is always effective ..

I'd emphasise that mindfulness enhances focus, reduces stress, improves decision-making, and fosters emotional intelligence. By sharing tangible examples of successful executives who've incorporated mindfulness into their routines, I'd demonstrate its real-world benefits. I'd also emphasise that mindfulness is not about escaping challenges but rather about responding to them with greater clarity and composure. Ultimately, I'd encourage them to try mindfulness practices for a set period, inviting them to share their experiences and any shifts they notice.
