I would start by asking volunteers what works and what needs to be addressed. Follow up with plan of action, communicate, pilot, evaluate, communicate - driven by stakeholders and supported by stakeholders - have volunteers be part of the process to amend the problem.

Too often, compelling stories of the impact nonprofits make are directed outward to donors and potential donors.
