Whether you're looking to get more people to know you, get leads, build trust, or sell stuff, each goal needs a different plan. Pro Tip: SMART Goals Make sure your goals are SMART - that means they're Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, & Time-bound. This gives your content plan structure and acts like a guide, helping you make things happen. Example: Boost brand awareness & engagement by 20% in 3 months through fun, shareable videos, aligning with our industry leadership plan.

Creating content for multiple purposes where the audience engages with interesting, enlightening, realistic narrative will serve brands by building engagement, will bring more faith, build trust and a rapport with audience that will certainly enhance growth. People like talking to people, therefore, content should create those conversations where everybody may have a say and may take pleasure in giving their input.

In case you wish to post your niche content on distinguished social media platforms with different content formats, customisation of content after proper analysis of the different platforms is highly recommended. You may raise the same issue in a casual/informal manner on Instagram and Facebook, while it might need a touch of professionalism while posting it on LinkedIn.

Only "choose" the platform if you have very limited resources. Instead, you should develop a content strategy and creation pipeline for as many platforms as possible; and there are a lot of AI and automation tools that can help you. Yes, there will be more rewarding platforms for your particular business. But keep in mind that your customers are using tons of social media platforms, and you should too.

Knowledge (of your TG) is power & will help you avoid spreading your budget too thin across multiple platforms. Choice of platform will depend on - 1) Demographic and psychographic segmentation: Where's your TG is more likely to be? Use free tools like Similarweb & Audiense wherever possible. 2) The brand's marketing goal (awareness/ info/ leads) will favor some platforms 3) Message complexity & type will favor certain channels e.g. an aesthetically oriented message is more suitable to a visual medium like IG than say Quora. 4) Lastly, brand image and sensibilities too need to be considered. Do a weighted average score for each platform across the above 4 criteria. Pilot with the top 3 or 4 and tweak your budget allocation as you go on.

Look at the demographics of the people your are trying to reach and select the platform that has the largest pool of people that match your criteria. You can use any search engine to find accessible data of an average percentage of user demographics on a platform as well amount of active users that fit that demographic. Find the gem of a platform that has both a large percentage of average user and active users that match your audience. Be prepared to make adjustments to the End Goal Road Map to best suite the platform it will be on. Focus on one platform at a time.

Every platform has seemed to adopt just about every kind of content nowadays (ie. Instagram is no longer just for photos, TikTok is no longer just for videos, etc.). It's also critical to try new formats as they become available on different platforms, as they will likely be pushed heavily by the algorithm.

Generally speaking, text-heavy posts aren't necessarily attention-grabbing. If you're starting out in content development, include an image (as a basic first step) to help your posts 'come alive', so to speak. As your confidence grows, experiment with reels, carousels and live streams to test engagement levels across various formats.

Experimenting with different formats is always best to see what your audience loves most but stay consistent with your content delivery and I recommend that you do a lot of video content as the results are always astounding.

Based upon these analytics, you can opt to change the strategies keeping up with relevant changes, and enhance your content accordingly.

Look beyond likes and delve into qualitative metrics like audience sentiment in comments and shares. This deeper analysis can reveal what resonates and why, informing future content that's both strategically sound and emotionally engaging.

There's more to life than likes, follows and shares. BUT, social media is built on those three functions. The more you have a reliable, self-hosted call-to-action (CTA), the more accurate results you'll get for measuring what works and what doesn't. Otherwise, you're throwing spaghetti on the wall.

I believe one of the most critical parts of a successful content strategy is to define your target audience persona. Your social outreach campaigns will be more effective if you know who you are writing for and what will resonate better with your readers.

The communication should be modelled on the logos, ethos and pathos framework so that it is able to deliver the intended impact. The content should have a right balance of all the three persuasion techniques.
