For example in Rotary we have leaders who are called a Club advisor. Get them on board as you discuss pertinent point about the Club. You can also go back to the drawing board by getting the Club by laws or the Club constitution to get things streamlined.

Analyse and determine jointly which group/person is correct. Try to set parameters or benchmark for the issue resolution process. For the example one team suggests one way another different way. Let us determine in a quantifiable manner which way is faster, compliant with company policy and ethics, economical, long term, easily doable and can be standardized for future such situations.
