I would give it to an outside contractor to maintain the units, warehousing is to Store Goods not to have a repair shop, the minimum requirement for our drivers (certified) is to return the unit to the charging area. Maybe one guy to keep the units clean, recharged or fueled, input logs and have them ready for the next shift... and keep in ming to reduce the # of units / area away for pedestrians... as much as possible.

Maintenance schedules that are followed and gaps in the operating business to allow maintenance to occur. Giving ownership to person(s) always helps a machine stay in better condition - their is generally someone who cares a little more, so give them the role to look after the forklift. Have a solid system of cursory daily checks and weekly in-depth checks. Show your employees you are serious about safety by addressing every concern and all failed maintenance checks immediately.

Ter conhecimento sobre os cuidados com o equipamento também é necessário para manter a qualidade e desempenho nas operações.

Training should be an ongoing process that doesn't stop once an operator gets the certification to drive. Follow up testing and observation will help ensure operators are performing their duties safely and efficiently.

Forklifts must have OEM guidelines of maintenance schedule, do's and don'ts, consumables spares list for timely replacement as per cycle or usage. We need to ensure these documents are ready with user/operators, maintenance staff, team lead etc. And these schedules are followed strictly. If you don't have maintenance team then ensure if you have done AMC with OEM or a good service provider. For specific guidelines for daily check; Regular inspection & lubrication of all moving parts Battery water and gravity to be checked regularly. All fluid levels to be Checked regularly such as coolant, engine oil, hyd oil. Filters replacement needed on regular intervals Tyre / brakes/ hydraulic hose to be inspected regularly.

Consider for safety reasons always to reduce the number of units is every area...go from motorized to walking units... reduce risk!
