Allowing breakout sessions for feedback weather in group or written/typed. And seek permission to address in the larger, live group. Providing space for quiet/desensitizing. One thing that I found to be helpful is including speakers that look like the audience. An example, if your audience are women of color small business owners, use a speaker that looks like them and had similar experiences. Your audience will appreciate and be more open to learning from those that look like them. Another thing is to incorporate native language or multilingualism into the conversation. You don’t have to be fluent in the language but a few words would be much appreciated by a multicultural audience.

When organizing the conversation to be had with those who share the meeting--It is important to consider the outcome desired for the collective message. We want to motivate a movement, bring forth new information and build an initiative to move the message forward. How we do that with speakers is to change up the perspective of the conversation by introducing the collaboration of independent thought. To build from each contributing part a wave of gathered energy that creates a tsunami with the collective that benefits all. To then take up the sum- creation as a new concept & initiate its growth to a broadened audience. Once this is established, the process next moves to share new thought with parallels all can relate to. Apply them with similarities/difference- to events & situations they know. Then follow with the benefits to be realized. To help them visualize, we demonstrate with areas of expected growth. Engagement by all participants-will grow when they recognize the value of this change.

How do you sell a program to "Empower Reading Skills to SAVE OUR KIDS AT RISK", (when it may in fact be a genetically conditioned trait that blocks reading). Meaning-one or both parents do not read past 3rd grade level either. This is a dilemma. When currently all parents place their trust in Education to have answers to this problem-when they do not! The answer is that you have "to market" to the reading public, and all know interest in new initiatives when they benefit ourselves mostly. Unique programs exist to promote "reading for all to grow them into "peer equals." When we promote these struggling few 20%- to now use their newly unleashed intelligence--the benefit exceed all realms with cures & solutions that only they have answers to.
