=> Being a software engineer your data structure concepts must be already solid, all you need to start with is switch to python. Since python as a lot of support available when it comes to machine learning. => Consider refreshing math, statistics, and data analysis skills. => Get comfortable with linear algebra, calculus, probability. As per my understanding, machine learning roles roughly has two parts: Understanding the basics and implementation. Your background in software engineering will really help in the implementation part and you already possess some of the following transferrable skills: -Familiarity with programming languages like Python, data structures, algorithm design principles are needed in ML also. -Your analytical ability of breaking down the complex problem into smaller manageable steps will be handy in ML also. -Your ability to debug the code and fix issues will really contribute in developing and maintaining an ML project. But you also need to work on the other part which is understanding fundamentals in order to succeed in ML domain.

If I were to start with learning Machine Learning again, I would: 1. Select a dataset to focus on. 2. Explore and understand a specific ML algorithm. 3. Consistently apply this algorithm to the chosen dataset. 4. Dive into Kaggle competitions to gain diverse perspectives and practical insights. 5. Test these insights again on the same dataset to assess performance. 6. Continuously refine models based on feedback and results. 7. Engage with the ML community through forums and social media for feedback and new ideas.

For a transition to ML you may follow the following steps - Head to coursera and search for machine specialization by Andrew ng and complete it - Build projects that are available on youtube or udemy - Deploy the projects to cloud platforms where it is available to people - Again, head over to coursera and complete the deep learning specialzation - Make each project in CV and NLp - Deploy it Once you are done till here and feel confident, dive to the mlops part and model optimization. - Continue reading blogs to keep with the trend. - Don't forget to practise python or dsa till the intermediary level while you are learning ML

Some tips for learning ML fundamentals: -First remember, it will take some time to master ML basics. So, you need to be patient and hopeful in your learning journey. -Use a structured learning approach. For that, choose an online course and stick to it until you learn some of the basics. Constant jumping from one learning source to another can lead to lack of direction and motivation. -Start with simple algorithms like linear and logistic regression before moving on to complex ones like neural networks. -Try to practice and implement in code whatever theoretical concept you learn. You can download the datasets from Kaggle. -Read blogs/articles/discussions on Medium, LinkedIn, Kaggle etc. to broaden your knowledge of machine learning.
