If you want to stand out, be yourself and let your work/results do the talking. Anything else is fake, in my opinion. Too many people are trying to impress, and it feels fake. Be yourself and crack on.

In my experience, the sooner you adapt to the local culture, the better. Know your team and adjust to see new ways of thinking. Do not get stuck in an American mindset, what works in the US may not work abroad.
