According to studies trauma-impacted individuals make up roughly 70% of our workforce. Marginalized groups are even more likely to have experienced trauma through racial injustice, historic and generational trauma, harassment, community violence, food and housing insecurity, bullying, and more. Educating staff on the core principles of trauma-informed care, cultivating psychologically safe environments, and holding everyone accountable to these principles ensures a more equitable and inclusive environment.

Leadership involvement is crucial for the success of any DEI initiative. When leaders actively participate and advocate for diversity and inclusion, they set a powerful example and drive organizational change. Prepare your leaders by providing specialized DEI training to help them understand their role in fostering an inclusive culture and equip them with the skills to lead by example.
