In my experience, it is extremely important to plan the project. Since we are dealing in a territory in which there can be a lot of experimentation, having a clear direction usually helps a lot in getting things done. Considering the tight deadline, it might be ideal to start from the simplest plan possible and build up from there.

Develop a detailed plan that includes all steps of the project, from data acquisition and preparation to machine learning model implementation and evaluation. This will help keep the project organized and prioritize the most important activities.

This step might sound weird, but it is extremely important to take breaks. There was one time I had a really tight deadline.. I simply forgot to take breaks and didn't even sleep, I went as far as I could to finish the project. There was still one piece of function, some 4 or 5 lines that had to be written, and I had to communicate the team that my brain simply wasn't functioning anymore, I just wasn't being able to write those last lines and someone else wrote them. Here, either having someone to help remind you to take breaks while coding, or using the Pomodoro method, or timers might really help to avoid that. Also, it seems that breaks change the type of mode the brain is in, this can foster new (and better) solutions to problems.
