Due to the existence of instant communication tools that we have today, the handwritten "thank you" note has become a relic of years past. When using email to craft a thank-you note, I've noticed that it's good to have the follow-up email show up in the interviewer's inbox at the end of the workday in which you interviewed, or at the beginning of the next workday. By receiving the note of gratitude at the end of the current workday, the interviewer will end their day thinking back on your conversation with them; if it's received at the beginning of the next workday, it will serve to remind them of the wonderful conversation they had with you the day prior.

Definitely send a "Thank You" note. Mention something relating how you would embrace the organization's culture and refer back to things discussed in the interview. Also, in closing stress without overstressing how you would appreciate the opportunity to serve the organization in the role.

I agree that self assessment and reflection is super valuable!! As a recruiter I always asked my candidates how they thought the interview went right afterwards. Now as a coach I prompt clients about self assessment and reflection as well. Working with career coach or life coach can be super helpful when job searching.

Unless it is for a sales-oriented position in which you are trying to demonstrate your tenacity, an overly aggressive stance could backfire. It's always best to be polite and inquisitive when asking for a follow-up, recognizing the interviewer's process and the hefty decision they have to make. It's never a good idea to make demands on the interviewer, or set a deadline for them to respond to you.

Sabemos que após a entrevista os candidatos ficam ansiosos com o feedback. No entanto, é crucial demonstrar paciência durante esse período. O processo de seleção pode levar mais tempo do que o esperado, devido a várias razões, como a coordenação entre os membros da equipe ou a necessidade de avaliar outros candidatos. O recrutador tem o dever de deixar claro o prazo de retorno e caso não houver, aguarde cerca de uma a duas semanas antes de enviar um e-mail de acompanhamento. Being patient and positive is easier said than done. Current hiring process and job searching with constant rejection and waiting can wreck havoc on our nervous systems and cause burnout. One tip I tell people to help avoid this is to have a separate email dedicated to job searching and keep the notification turned OFF. Check it only once a day, and don’t even open the rejection emails. It’s worth it to get a Google voice number as well. This way, every call or email isn’t spiking stress or hope/disappointment about it being a job offer or rejection.
