I'd say the best thing is to document your contributions wether you'll eventually need it to prove yourself or not. It can be frustrating but that's the best bet. Now, every workings has an answer or result. Your boss only has the answer but not the workings that add up. If you are only reporting to them and they have a superior boss, it will only be a matter of time before it's figured out. It does not mean you should back down on your impressive work, keep at it. You will get your flowers soon enough.
