You need to check if the materials you're using or want to use are aligned with your objectives and goals, and if you intend to reach a certain level in CEFR, you also need to check if these materials are aligned with this framework.

Establish your main objectives, is it to improve reading, writing, or your speaking? Then, find resources aligned with topics of your personal interest. Self motivation will built knowledge as well as confidence.

I believe that, nowadays, following only one method limits your possibilities of teaching effectively. What one teacher should do, in my opinion, is try and blend the techniques and approaches one has seen works well with students, and most importantly, vary what you do in order to avoid boredom and give students the opportunity to identify how they learn best.

I always encourage students and clients to record their voices and listen back. It is one of the most effective ways to improve speaking confidence but it also takes the most courage and thinking effort so very few people actually do it. Once you embrace your voice and how you sound, you will feel empowered to start self-correcting yourself and you'll be ready to talk to people without fear of being criticized or ridiculed.

I used to correct students all the time in the past. That was a huge mistake. You should encourage students to communicate, through speaking and writing, as much as you can, and correct only the most blatant mistakes, in order to help them feel confident when using the language.
