Thinking strategically has almost nothing to do with the knowledge you acquired previously, but with the “acquiring process itself”. The brain must be wired to think outside the box, to create new solutions. Able and eager to learn the next information, to use the neural connections to complete the next puzzle. So, what can i do to train my neurons? Small actions: play video games, complex board games, even poker if you like. Read all kinds of books, not only technical, history, drama, etc. Medium actions: learn new subjects not related to day tp day life (philosophy? Culinary?), engage in complex exercise. Big actions: learn to sail, to dive, to pilot airplane or helicopter The main objective is to expand your mental options.

Reflection fuels agile problem-solving. Reflect not only after execution but throughout strategic planning and decisions. Do not only think about lessons for future challenges but also how you are agile in your current strategy. Embracing an agile mindset throughout the process prepares you to adjust your plan based on learnings and emerging realities. Inevitably, roadblocks will arise during strategy execution. Continuous reflection helps identify these roadblocks early and allows you to develop creative, continuously evolving solutions.

A personality trait like "reflect deeply" is invaluable in an HR professional. These were relationships that were previously categorized as uninterested or resistant. I formed a network of sponsors by reaching out, leading with humility, and prioritizing their needs. These sponsors helped break down common barriers and solve process challenges that were disruptive.

Collaboration is a complex technology and with cocreation and sharing, for instance, are also technologies of the future that we can access to bring better collective solutions to the now. Also, as we don’t solve the problems of today alone. Learn from your peers and share your experience and insights with them as well. Meet new people and go out of the comfort zone. Diversify your experiences and ability to navigate through trends and new ambiences to expand your horizons. This should not only benefit you, but also your groups and networks.
