In my experience it is important that the objectives are clear, and the tools needed to achieve success are made available. The organization should see that you as a leader are engaged and understanding in any unusual circumstances that are taking place. They should be made to feel that their direct leadership has equity in the situation they themselves are facing, as well as confidence in them to persevere.
