Here's how you can confidently present your ideas to stakeholders as an educational leader.

As an educational leader presenting ideas to the stakeholders requires clarity, relevance and engagement. Align with the vision and mission of the institution and provide strategic direction will enable the achievement of desired purpose. Incorporate a student centred learning, which will promote a personalized learning plan tailored to individual students needs. As educators we need to collaborate and share the best practices and foster community engagement. Implement support system for students mental health and wellbeing programs.Develop programs that cater to diverse learning needs, including special education. By focusing on these key ideas, we can inspire the stakeholders and drive meaningful improvement in your institution.

Knowing your audience completely is impossible, however, everyone experiences education and a presentation that reaches people on a personal level will always be more successful. People relate to general principles of good education and touching hearts is more important because it means you have provided meaningful information, and perhaps new knowledge about what is important educating. Leave the field-specific jargon at home unless necessary but always explain any terms.

Towards students; A teacher need to be well versed in the official language of communication in the concerned institution, Also teacher needs to be technically sound in the subject, skilled to judge the minds and capabilties of students, adaptive to the need of students, sensitive and compassionate to every student. Towards administration: teacher should be capable to comply the objectives and vision of institution with highest efficiency. Planning is key to the success of a presentation. A short talk and three takeaways is plenty for an effective delivery of your key points. Longer presentations offer opportunities to dig deeper into the three or so main topics. Imagine you are in in the audience hearing your presentation for the first time and unfamiliar with some or all of the topics. What would grab you? What would make you want to listen to more and peak your curiosity? Aim your talk at that person to reach as many people as possible.

I am a music teacher-researcher who uses visuals in every lesson! Listening to music is temporal and educators have a long history of visualising information, such as music to communicate and learn. I use Cohn's (2020) ski-hill graphs to visualise the mathematical aspects of meter fundamentals from listening to music. What is a ski-hill graph? It is a two-dimensional layout to jot down a summary of pulses and meters to collect information for performance timing and expression. Although it takes a little training to learn how to introduce ski-hill graphs to visualise meter, the approach provides much more meter information than is possible with time signatures like 2/4 or 6/8 which describe one pulse type. Students enjoy music-maths visuals!

Practice, practice, practice makes progress and confidence comes from knowing what you're doing. Winging it is a recipe for nervousness and intuitive audience will sense the lack of preparation.

Listening should be a key element throughout any presentation or discussion. If you are presenting, ask the audience for their opinions- a show of hands can work well. If you have having a discussion, ask questions before you share ideas to get to know the audience and to gauge their knowledge. After presenting, continue to engage with the stakeholders, not only to response to questions of comments, but to actively ask for them. This shows a willingness to talk and to clarify ideas and it builds trust.

Stakeholders for an academic institution are multifaceted including students who are supposed to be on the top of the list that you need to satisfy. Satisfying them including offering them the best service, solving their problems and providing them with the best education assuming that they have chosen their intended specialty. The second category is the academic staff who you need to make sure that the teaching/ learning environments is top quality in terms of physical resources needed . Also they must be provided with the resources needed to conduct research. The board of trustees who are also an important component need to see financial, academic and administrative plans with operational planning to see how you’ll execute your work .

Above all, it is crucial to exhibit industry and environmental awareness and curate ideas around ground realities. I believe stakeholders appreciate those who are grounded yet have a visionary approach to creating future opportunities with risk mitigation. No matter how impressive your style is, at the end of the day, it's the value of the idea and the maturity shown by the individual that matters.
