Personally, I am at a stage of my career where I want to make as much experiences as possible. Working as a freelancer gives me that opportunity, being able to work on different kinds of jobs (or even slide in a personal project from time to time).

If you prefer flexibility and variety, temporary work could be more suitable. Weigh these factors carefully to make an informed decision. Permanent roles off a sense of stability but the temporary roles give you the flexibility to try a lot of different things. I see it just like renting a house versus owning. You can use the short term roles to get a feel of the kind of work you like and the type of company before you commit to a longer term job.
