Here's how you can enhance your ability to influence and persuade others as a leader in personal coaching.

1) Be transparent. I have a 2 page "contract" which lays out everything a potential client would need to know. From my credentials to my timing to my fees to the specific approach I take. 2) I always begin every session with: I want to know your questions. 3) Remember you are there to help in the way that that client needs to be helped. I refer 1/3 of the people who approach me for services to someone else whom I believe would serve their needs better than I. It is not only the right thing to do, but this is the way you build trust as a professional.

Trust is essential for personal coaching to succeed. People know when someone isn't authentic so ensuring you are open, honest and genuine begins to develop trust. I also never assume that confidentiality is a given, I explicitly set out what this means to me and how it should look for our coaching relationship. Through consistent practice and showing up 100% for my clients I build trust with them.

Dies ist für beide Seiten wichtig, um nicht nur Vertrauen zu spüren, sondern auch eine gemeinsame Passing/ Wellenlänge. Alles andere ist Zeit/ und Geldverschwendung, und führt nicht zum gewünschten Ziel.

Trust is also (or even mostly) build through being authentic and real. People can smell "fakeness" form a mile away. You being true to yourself, embodying what your preach and walking your talk will build not only trust but also inspire others to be more authentic too rather than trying to force-shape themselves into something they are not.

Consistency plays one of the crucial roles in establishing trust with clients during personal coaching.Consistently delivering on promises and commitments is essential. When clients see that you follow through consistently, it builds trust. Whether it’s meeting deadlines, providing regular updates, or sticking to agreed-upon plans, consistency matters. Trust is earned over time. It’s a continuous process and every interaction contributes to eroding trust. As you consistently demonstrate reliability, empathy,competence, your clients will feel secure in your abilities,be more receptive to your guidance.

There are 3 different levels to listening, of which the third one is the most effective. When you are in level 3 listening, you pay attention not only to what the other person is saying, but also how they are moving/behaving, and you tune into their energy and surroundings as well. Body language can paint a completely different picture compared to what the client is saying only. They might say they are confident but are nervously rubbing their hands together or looking away a lot not able to maintain eye contact. Getting curious about those signs, is an important part of listening!

Eine Sache, die ich bei Aktivem Zuhören als sehr wichtig erachte ist die Neutralität, die ich als Coach mitbringen muss. Denn die Gefahr die Themen unserer Coachees mit unseren eigenen zu vermengen besteht. Aktives Zuhören ermöglicht es mir als Coachin, das Geäußerte konzentriert und neutral aufzunehmen und das Verstandene zu wiederholen mit ‚Ich habe verstanden, dass…!‘, um das gemeinsame Verständnis abzusichern, und somit Gefärbtes oder Reininterpretiertes erst gar nicht aufkommen zu lassen. Zugewandtheit und Neutralität ist das Fundament für Aktives Zuhören im Coaching.

As a coach, I listen very carefully to what someone says and to mirror their language and the specific words that they use. I constantly check that I have heard them and understand them correctly by feeding back to them what I hear. I also check that what information and action points are agreed are understood to avoid any misunderstandings.

Algo que he venido practicando mucho, es comunicar la emoción y no comunicarme desde la emoción, hay una diferencia abismal entre estas dos cosas. Donde esta el problema, que cuando uno se comunica desde la emoción, lo hace en un estado donde no hay claridad y objetividad, se puede lastimar, herir, pero cuando se comunica la emoción, en un estado de calma y tranquilidad, se es mas objetivo y empatizo en la comunicación. Aprender a comunicar con claridad, objetividad y asertividad, es muy importante para el liderazgo.

Uma contribuição a mais que posso trazer é reforçar junto ao cliente a necessidade constante do autodesenvolvimento, pois é a chave para o empoderamento legítimo. Sem dúvida, também deve-se apoiar seus pequenos avanços, para contribuir com a formação de cultura do aprendizado contínuo. Reforce o quanto é valiosa cada vitória, mesmo que pequena. Costumo sugerir ao cliente que faça a si mesmo um pequeno agrado, como forma de marcar a vitória alcançada.

Hace un tiempo conocí a alguien que despidieron de su trabajo y se encontraba muy mal, triste, deprimido, confundido, etc. durante un mes estuve acompañándolo ocasionalmente en su proceso, lo llamaba, lo visitaba, lo invima a tomarnos un café o caminar, y en esos espacios lo único que hacia era resaltar en el todo el potencial que veía, sin ser hipócrita, pero siempre le hacia ver el talento que tenia en ventas, la enorme habilidad que tenia para influenciar a otras personas, su gran corazón, entre muchas otras cosas, a los 3 meses, el decidió emprender y le ha ido muy bien. Me llamo y me agradeció, porque sin saberlo, cada parte del proceso que le acompañe, estuve empoderandolo para tomar su decisión.

Maßgeschneiderte Förderung und Entwicklung! Empowerment ist tiefgreifend, fordernd und fördernd. Dazu möchte ich ein Beispiel aus meiner Coachingpraxis erzählen: Ein Kunde kam in völliger Verzweiflung in die erste Coachingsitzung zu mir. Er kannte mich privat und wollte meine Unterstützung in seiner beruflichen Angelegenheit. Dennoch kostete es ihn viel Überwindung, Auf der Fahrt zum ersten Termin wollte er mehrfach umkehren. Nach den ersten 3 Stunden war er erleichtert und sah seine Problemstellung als neue Chance und erkannte neue Handlungsmöglichkeiten. Er fühlte sich empowered!

Só cuidado para não se tornar "vazio" sem método. Desenvolva um repertório, uma boa caixa de ferramentas para ajudar a ser versátil quando for necessário.

En el enegrama hay uno de los 9 comportamiento que tiene muchas facilidad para adaptarse con facilidad, es el 9 conciliador, y yo tengo esa energía presente en mi conducta. Saber adaptarse a los diferentes escenarios y circunstancias es importante, nos permite aprender a entender espacios diferentes, conversaciones diferentes, personas diferentes y eso enriquece nuestra mente, nuestro carácter y nuestra conducta.

Liderança é sobre inspiração, é sobre pessoas. Então, você PRECISA ser o exemplo para seu cliente, pois ele verá em você o que busca para si. O Coach deve ser uma referência, ter uma vida de resultado comprovado naquilo que fala, que vive. Se é coach de emagrecimento, seja saudável. Se é coach de finanças, seja próspero. Você precisa ser um exemplo positivo, ser autêntico sempre!

Totalmente de acuerdo. La creencia en algo depende en buena parte del resultado que se expone, no se puede pretender a cambiar un estilo de vida si nosotros como individuos, no logramos controlar la nuestra.

Für mich, als Coach, ist es wichtig, stets die Wirksamkeit von Sprache zu trainieren. Dazu möchte ich ein gutes Beispiel aus meiner Praxis teilen: Ein Bereichsleiter war verzweifelt mit einer Führungskraft. Er holte sich vor einem Gespräch mit ihr meine Unterstützung. Wie ich aus vorherigen Sessions wusste, war ihm Beziehungsorientierung sehr wichtig. Er selbst ist ein brillianter Netzwerker. Er sagte zu ihr, sie solle mehr in Beziehung gehen mit ihrem Team, ohne Erfolg. Ich fragte ihn nach Ihrem persönlichen Hintergrund: Seit 2 Jahren geschieden, allein mit ihrem Sohn! Was macht sie wohl beim Wort Beziehung - blockiert! Die Erkenntnis: das Wort nicht mehr nutzen und ersetzen durch ‚ in den Dialog gehen‘. Das half ihm und ihr sehr.

When push comes to shove coaching, leadership and sales all share one thing. They're all about influence. Key steps in all: 1. Ask great questions. 2. Listen deeply. 3. Elicit insight 4. Help turn insight into action.

One of the most helpful things I’ve done to communicate well with a client is have them complete an assessment. I’m a big fan of Birkman Method, so I use that. The assessment, walked through well, equips you to increase their self-awareness. By having the assessment results, you’re able to use statements like, “you indicated that you…” This language is helpful when coaching someone who struggles to take constructive feedback well. This approach has broken down walls and sped up self-discovery and performance-building for several of my clients.

Your clients will actualize that which the coach believes. If your nonverbal signals are incongruent with the your verbals, you will not have unconscious influence on your client to build the safety, certain trust for them to have the best chance of success.
