Experts are my favorite type of source in my 20-plus years as a journalist. Generally they have strong idealism, are objective and systematic in expressing their opinions. Of course, not all experts have qualities like this. Sometimes one or two of them only use the media as a platform to seek popularity. Therefore, pay close attention to the track record of the expert who is your source. Look for experts who have a solid academic base but are also quite articulate in analyzing everyday reality.
