eLearning is ripe for disruption and filled with good eLearning developers. That doesn't mean that you can't be one of the developers, but it might be good to find your "why" as early as possible and to do that, you'll have to collect some experiences in different areas that need eLearning. Traditional eLearning is repetitive and mired with "the way we've always done it" methods like ADIE, Kirkpatrick, SAM, etc. I advise finding what makes your contributions as an eLearning developer unique and what sets you apart from the dime-a-dozen IDs out there.
