Automation has become very important in today's modern IT Operations, from my experience, IT teams need nowadays to focus on developing their skills to mitigate the huge developments in the IT field before manual tasks to avoid human errors and to save cost and time to build a more scalable and stable IT environment, and of course, we all need a continues training to develop our skills in term of the automation

Prior to making a decision on adding emerging IT trends for your company it's imperative to understand the impact and cost measures associated with the implementation as well as support measures. It's beneficial to inquire about multiple references of other companies(of similar size and sector) that are utilizing automation in their environment and the impact its had since implementation. Understanding the ROI as it relates to resource training, downtime, and the short/long-term goal of your company will help determine the path moving forward when selecting the processes to automate.

When thinking of IT operations always keep in mind you're usually going to be restricted by what other people do. You're not CEO of the company or even CTO. If you know of better security protocols or better programs and systems that you think should be used you need to be able to communicate why. You also need to be willing to compromise and work with people who either do not agree or simply aren't willing to put up with changing what they are used to using. Anything you design or want used should be as intuitive and simple as possible. If there is a better option that's similar to what is already done it's almost always going to be adopted over a best option that's completely different.
