My personal process is to: 1. Identify areas of performance/improvement that I believe my work will impact and identify quantitative & qualitative indicators I can track that tie back to results of my work. 2. Set measurable (S.M.A.R.T.) goals. Set 3 types of goals. 1.) A reasonably obtainable goal. 2.) A "stretch" goal. 3.) An "astronomical" goal. This is a goal that you believe would be achievable if every condition was perfect or optimal. 3. Track both wins and opportunities for improvement and document how your work successes contributed to the win, and how your work dedication has contributed to discovering additional areas of improvement. 4. Don't be afraid to identify your contributions and have a sponsor who advocates for you.

Present clear and concise reports highlighting your achievements and how they have benefited the team or organization. Seek opportunities to take on additional responsibilities or lead projects that demonstrate your capability and dedication. Have a good customer service relationship. Make your input loud, the result is all that matters! your boss will naturally flow with you.

To track success, you first need to define it. Set clear expectations about what success looks like for you and your boss and, once defined it, track it. Leverage both brainpower and the technology that best suits your needs and that it's easy to leverage when time comes to communicate those results. Break down bulk data into small, digestible nuggets of information that you can easily reference when telling the story of your success.
