One thing I like a lot are regular newsletters. There are several (too many) daily and weekly newsletters about technology. Subscribe to some of them. Unsubscribe when you get tired of them. Read when you can and mark them as read when you can't. It is a nice continuous feed of information in a place that I always check (my inbox). I like them but they can become annoying. And remember, if you do it for a short period of time, as a part time, if most of what you know comes from a single course or a couple of newsletters, you hardly will be a specialist. In my opinion, it is much better to be a very well informed amateur enthusiast than an ignorant self-advertised specialist.
