The issue in the hospitality space isn’t access to data. We have tons of data. The issue is making the data you have usable. If you don’t have an advanced BI solution that allows you to integrate, enhance, and manipulate the data you have into usable dashboards that allow you to gain meaningful insights, you are flying blind. To be clear, I am not talking about having someone on the team who’s a wiz with Excel.

And once you have the analysis, worked on the solution be ready to do the storytelling. This is again a key part of the question that gets overlooked. The stakeholders are usually looking for a solution to the problem, but the solution also needs to talk their language. If the analysis becomes too technical or too analytical or too complicated then you already lost the plot. The ideas to analyze and simplify for the rest of the team members or stakeholders so that you can collectively win as a team

I have found looking at data from all angles as mentioned above to be very helpful but especially if your guest scores aren’t so great. Look for the same issues and if you continually see the same ones it’s a great place to start.

I agree, the data is there! The real question is: what questions are you asking of the data? Data can provide insights that tell us a lot of things, but it can send you in the wrong direction if you don't know the RIGHT questions to ask of it. Defining your North Star is what allows you ensure you are leveraging the data in a way that is going to move your business forward - not just give you interesting information that can sidetrack your teams off the primary mission.
