At CFTE, we have had multiple examples of full-time employees who initially joined the internship programme. There are 3 main traits that were common to all these interns who were offered a full-time job: 1. Getting things done: when they were given tasks, they always made sure that these tasks would be successfully completed. If they encountered issues, they would talk to their managers and ask for guidance. 2. They were extremely proactive: when they had free time, they would ask questions, see if there were other projects they could help with. 3. Everybody wanted to work with them: working in an organisation is not just a job, it's also personal, and having good interpersonal skills is always a plus.

Meeting people and getting to know them, understand what they do, is one of the biggest benefits interns can get from their experience. These discussions can lead to job opportunities in various departments, and senior people could sponsor an intern if they found him/her a good fit for the organisation.
